VRF and VRV systems for larger buildings
VRF (variable refrigerant flow) systems connect many indoor units to one or more outdoor units on a shared refrigerant network. VRV is Daikin's name for the same technology. They are the standard choice for offices, shops, restaurants, hotels and large houses with many zones.

Where VRF makes sense
- Buildings with more zones than a multi split can handle.
- Projects where some rooms need cooling while others need heating at the same time. Heat recovery VRF moves heat from one zone to another and saves energy doing it.
- Fit outs that need central control, scheduling and integration with a building management system.
- Large residential projects where long pipe runs and many indoor units rule out domestic equipment.
How we deliver a VRF project
- Survey and review of drawings, loads and the building's constraints before any equipment is selected.
- Refrigerant pipework designed with the manufacturer's selection software, including branch joint positions, pipe sizes and additional refrigerant charge.
- Brazed copper pipework under a nitrogen purge, pressure tested and held, then evacuated before any refrigerant is released.
- Commissioning with full records, F-Gas documentation and a handover pack for the client or facilities team.
- Systems from manufacturers including Daikin (VRV), Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi, Samsung and Clivet.
Working with main contractors
- We work directly for building owners and as a subcontractor to builders, fit out contractors and M&E contractors.
- RAMS, method statements and insurance details are provided before work starts. Payment terms are agreed in writing at quotation stage.
Brands
We install systems from Daikin, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Electric, Hitachi, Samsung, Clivet and Sinclair, and recommend the one that fits the job.
Common questions
What is the difference between VRF and VRV?
Nothing technical. VRV is Daikin's trademark for variable refrigerant volume systems, and VRF is the general term used by every other manufacturer.
Can VRF heat and cool at the same time?
A heat recovery VRF system can. A heat pump VRF system runs every indoor unit in the same mode at once. Which one you need depends on the building.
Do you provide design?
Yes. We produce the system selection and pipework design from the manufacturer's software for most projects. For large buildings we can work to a consultant's design.
